Widgets
Ember's widgets bring a little of your archive to the Home Screen: a story you'd forgotten, an anniversary coming up, someone you might want to call. They're on iPhone and iPad.
Adding a widget
- Touch and hold an empty part of the Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
- Tap Edit ▸ Add Widget, and search for Ember.
- Pick a widget and a size, and tap Add Widget.
For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen, and tap the widget area under the clock.
Home Screen widgets
| Widget | Shows | Sizes |
|---|---|---|
| Story Showcase | Your stories, with their cover, a different one every 20 minutes. Tap to open it. | Small, medium |
| Moments | Anniversaries (the day you met someone, the years since a story) and birthdays coming up. | Small, medium, large |
| Reach Out | People you're tending who have drifted a little. It follows each world's Nudge me when setting. | Small, medium |
Lock Screen buttons
Three small round widgets open Ember straight to a task:
- New Entry: start a journal entry.
- Add Person: add someone new.
- Log Interaction: log a call, a visit or a message.
Privacy
- Widgets only show. They never change anything in your library.
- Reach Out hides names and photos while your phone is locked.
- People you've set to Quiet never appear in Moments.
- Widgets use your theme, and update after you leave Ember.
