Person Detail View
A person's page in Ember is the center of gravity for your relationship with them. Here, you can enrich their profile by recounting how you met and reviewing past interactions.
Adding "How we met"
Every relationship has an origin story. On any person's page, you can add a dedicated "How we met" note. This special field lets you jot down the circumstances, the date, and the feeling of your very first encounter.
To add this, simply navigate to the person's page, click on the profile details, and fill out the "How we met" section. It will live permanently at the top of their timeline as an anchor point for your shared history.
Reviewing and logging interactions
The person detail view gathers everything you've written about someone. In addition to full journal entries where they are @-mentioned, it acts as a ledger for quick interactions.
You can quickly log a new interaction directly from their page (or by pressing ⌘L anywhere). Choose the medium—whether it was a coffee catch-up, a phone call, or a quick text—and write a brief note. These interactions populate their personal timeline, giving you a clear history of how you stay in touch.
Worlds and additional details
Beyond interactions, the detail view is where you manage the granular elements of a person's presence in Ember. You can add them to specific Worlds (like "Work" or "College Friends"), manage their nickname, and track their birthday—giving Ember the context it needs to help you nurture the relationship.
